Webinar: Pulling Back the Curtain on AI in Sleep Medicine

22.05.2020

Nox Medical strives to be an active supporter of the research and scientific community, and for years we have organized a sponsored symposium with high scientific value at key events within the sleep industry. We are excited to be sponsoring an upcoming webinar by Sleep Review  on Artificial Intelligence in Sleep, titled Pulling Back the Curtain on AI in Sleep Medicine.

As Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and other advanced data analytics methods become increasingly common in the field of sleep medicine, it is important for specialists to understand how to best utilize these technologies and evaluate their results. AI models can capture complicated patterns in data and automate manual tasks like scoring sleep studies, plus monitor physiological signals such as breathing, heart rate and actigraphy; however, these models are only as “smart” as the data they have learned from and might not be reliable in cases that are rare or that they have not encountered before.

The discussions will be made available by three excellent speakers, including Dr. Jon Skirnir Agustsson, PhD Research Manager at Nox Research. In this webinar, Dr. Agustsson will expound upon the opportunities and limitations associated with AI and Machine Learning technologies in the field of sleep medicine and equip specialists to mitigate risks with manual oversight, validation metrics and a deeper understanding of these technologies.
